THE YES TO THE GUESS

Updated: Jan 31, 2023

Saying YES to God’s invitation takes courage to let God lead the next step.

Starting a blog has been in my heart for a long time and I knew it would be hard, especially when it comes to something as personal and meaningful as my Catholic life. I have felt God nudging me the last several years to expand my writing through a blog but saying YES to Him in that way has kept me feeling brave-scared! Not a common word, but rhetorically defined as having the courage to face your fears despite feeling scared. It is about recognizing the fear and pushing through it to act and achieve something.

The fear was in my guess. I knew God was calling me to this but the anxious feeling of uncertainty and not having all the information made me question my own judgement. I didn’t know how this would turn out, I wasn’t sure who God would bring to the blog, I wasn’t sure of how this would all come together, I just knew He was calling me.

Calling me to a great way to connect and journey beside so many others saying Yes to Him, just like you. It has also given me a place to pay forward what so many have done for me. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it had not been for our Catholic faith and our faith community of family and friends.

Perhaps the most important reason I started this blog is that I believe in the power of the Catholic faith to transform lives. I believe that through the guidance of the Church and the support of our community, we can overcome any challenge and live the kind of life that God intended for us.

So, I’d like to welcome you here on this journey together. I pray that each of us will grow closer to Heaven every day.

I’ve grown stronger in my own prayer life through this blog. God challenges me daily and it helps drive my faith. I will be somewhere, in Mass or even at a social event and I will hear a few words that will stick with me. I will jot them down immediately, take them to prayer, research necessary facts (USCCB, AI, Google) then I begin to write. Half the time I leave not remembering what I wrote.

My daily prayer for you is for you to read these words through your eyes, in the way God is leading you and along the way, feel Him touching your heart and loving you the way only He can love. These words are inspired through God’s lens, I take no ownership.

Whether your YES is everything that was intended, or your NO is because your YES wasn’t going to be anything at all, it’s okay to do it Brave-Scared. I’m doing it too.

Together. Hand in hand. Pray for me, I’ll be praying for you.
