It is fashioned for us by God, who came to pitch his tent among us, invite us to his place, and prepare a room for us in his own house.

Henri Nouwen is one of my most favorite authors. In his book “The Return of the Prodigal Son,” he shares a profound message about our relationship with God. We are invited to come to God’s house, to be welcomed and embraced within its walls. This quote speaks to the special and intimate relationship we have with God, and how He invites us to be a part of His family, the Holy Family.
God loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to come and live among us. He pitched His tent and invited us to come and live with Him, do life with Him, every day. It is almost too good to be true that such a loving and powerful God would be willing to open His arms to us, sinners. But God is full of grace and mercy, and He lovingly invites us to come and share in His house.Oh, so lovingly.
There is a special room that God has prepared for us in His own house. When we accept His invitation and come to Him, He will give us a place where we can rest and find refuge. This room is a beloved place where we can go to be filled with peace, joy, and authenticity like we’ve never experienced before. Each of our rooms are different and made especially for us. I can already envision mine. Just thinking of that perfect place where we can all come to God, let all our guards down, let Him hold us tightly and never let Him go, brings such immense peace to my soul. It is there where we can rest within Him and allow Him to rest in us. This makes me wonder, have I always recognized my room with Him, or have I passed right by it and what do I need to do differently in my life to stay there.
My prayer for you today is that you will recognize your room, accept the invitation into His house, and that you will find the tent He pitched just for you. Welcome home. If there is one thing we can walk away knowing, it’s that He will always be on the other side, we just need to open the door.
Together in prayer. Hand in hand.

Happy Feast Day, Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us 🙏🏼
Every morning I wake up to drink coffee and spend intimate time in prayer. I imagine He is there waiting for me, sitting in the chair next to the couch and ready to spend some quiet time. The room is warm, peaceful and embracing. I think about how comforting it feels and makes me wonder how much more beautiful and magnificent the room He has waiting for me in heaven. It’s overwhelming and I feel so blessed. Thank you for your post. It’s beautiful and thought provoking ❤️. Praying for you. 🙏🏼
